The ron workman OAM VETERANS’ SUPPORT CENTRE
About vsc

The Ron Workman OAM Veteran Support Centre was established in 1998 with the sole aim of supporting the veteran community. Initially run by volunteers it has developed overtime and now employs a number of qualified staff who specialise in offering veteran services including advocacy, welfare, social program, wellbeing, employment and education.

Advocacy
The Veterans’ Support Centre have 5 Qualified Advocates who provide professional advice and assistance to veterans, serving members, ex-members of the Defence Forces and their dependents, seeking to obtain entitlements and compensation. We can submit claims under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986) (VEA), the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act (MRCA) and the Defence Related Claims Act (DRCA).
The service covers disability pensions, compensation payments, associated allowances, income support payments and medical treatment which may be available to entitled veterans, members and ex-members of the Defence Forces and their dependants.
This is a free service and can be arranged by ringing the Veteran Support Centre on 07 5559 5022.
The Advocates can get very busy so we like to prioritise Currumbin RSL Sub Branch Members. If you are not a member please join here and enjoy the benefits of being a part of our proactive Sub Branch.

I just wanted to touch base with you and sincerely thank you for your advice and guidance in finally reaching this decision.
When I first visited your office I was receiving a Disability Pension at 40%. You were very strong in your belief that my medical conditions warranted a much higher rate.
Under your guidance we worked through the DVA processes, firstly gaining an increase to 80% which made the Gold Card an entitlement. You then recommended we work towards getting up to 100%.
Again this was achieved. However you never wavered in your belief that I would be entitled to the Extreme Disability Adjustment payment. I was not at all confident but willing to trust your judgement.
The decision today validates your hard work and persistence. Your knowledge of the Statement of Principles related to my medical conditions was the driving force behind reaching this decision.
Once again my sincere thanks.
PS As with my other successful claims achieved through your help and the Ron Workman Veteran Support Centre I would like to make a contribution to assist with the operation of this worthwhile and valuable veteran’s resource. Please advise me the bank account details and I will transfer a donation.
Kindest Regards
TREVOR
