DESCRIPTION:On behalf of Currumbin Palm Beach RSL Sub Branch and its members\, we warmly invite you to attend our inaugural National Peacekeepers’ Day cenotaph service and light lunch. \nOn 14 September each year\, Australia observes National Peacekeepers’ Day. It’s the anniversary of the day Australia became the world’s first peacekeepers to deploy into the field\, in the Netherlands East Indies (now Indonesia) in 1947. \nSince that time\, Australian peacekeepers have served in locations around the globe\, from the Middle East to Africa\, Southeast Asia\, the Pacific and many more. \nMore than 66\,000 Australian men and women have served in more than 50 international peacekeeping operations since 1947; tragically 16 have lost their lives. \nThis commemorative service is an opportunity for Australians to honour the service and sacrifice of Australia’s military\, police and civilian peacekeepers. \nAll veterans\, families and the general public are welcome to attend. \nNo registration required for the cenotaph service\, however\, please register for the light lunch so we can cater accordingly. \nCENOTAPH SERVICE \nLocation: Currumbin RSL\, Cenotaph – 165 Duringan Street\, Currumbin QLD 4223\nTime: 11.15am \nLIGHT LUNCH & REFRESHMENTS \nTime: 12.00pm \nLocation: Currumbin RSL\, Deck \nPrice: Free

DESCRIPTION:Veterans are getting back to nature\, jumping at the chance to take part in Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s dedicated Veteran’s Wildlife Studies program. \n2026 Term Three dates are now advertised\, which sees you go behind the scenes at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary each Tuesday morning to experience. There will be key focuses each week such as: \n* The Importance of Zoos\n* Animal husbandry\n* Enrichment and Exhibit design\n* Wildlife Hospital / rehab facilities\n* Visit our Food Preparation area where we store all food and supplements for all park\n* Volunteering & education courses and careers at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary \nDetails of each Tuesday morning:\n* Tuesday morning\, 9:30am – 11:30am.\n* Meet 9:15am @ Cafe Entrance of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.\n* Transport: We take a community bus to the sanctuary each week\, if you would like a lift to the sanctuary please meet by 9am at the Veteran Support Centre – 164 Duringan St Currumbin. Alternate option is to take your own transport to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary\n* Parking: On street parking is available free of charge.
