About Kyle Faram – Managing Director of 2530 Tours:
2530 Tours is the brainchild of this 3-time Afghanistan Veteran and medically-retired sergeant. He served as a Forward Observer and Joint Terminal Attack Controller as part of the Special operations task group. Wounded in 2008 during a significant battle with insurgents which claimed one commando’s life and wounded three others. Redeployed with Mentoring Task Force 1 and 4.
“I am a small team leadership specialist. Having fought my own battles with PTSD, I am sick of seeing the devastation that this has caused to my own friends and fellow first responders. I hope to bring a level of first-hand recovery to as many first responders as I can.”
-Exercise is a critical component in battling the effects of some mental health issues including PTSD. Through adventure-based therapy, we give kayaking groups an adventure that exercises both body and mind.
-This recovery-orientated approach allows participants to “play”. Through semi-structured, kayaking experiences, small groups support each other to reach their destination.
-Equally, they gain confidence in their sense of “self”. Whilst exercising, they create new bonds with people from similar professional backgrounds and find a voice to share their own stories.
-Kyle uses his own lived experience and recovery to successfully run kayaking adventure tours for veterans & first responders .
2530 Tours philosophy can be summed up in three words: Adventure – Accomplishment – Community
